Fear and The Effect on our Energy Systems

When there is an immediate danger, we must get ourselves out of that situation. Running away, seeking help or fighting with all our might. Our natural response is to survive. The emotion of fear stimulates a response to allow us to take action. The fear response will be addressed and how it affects the human and animal energy systems. This understanding will help identify what happens to the physical body, but also the emotional and spiritual body via the energy system Psychology Today says:   “Fear is a vital response to physical and emotional danger—if we didn’t feel it, we couldn’t protect ourselves from legitimate threats. But often we fear situations that are far from life-or-death, and thus hang back for no good reason.”

What things present fear in a person?

We have all experienced fear have you not? Below are some examples of how fear finds us.

  • Health issues
  • Relationship
  • Attack
  • Near-death accident
  • Unsolicited events (9/11)
  • Random acts of violence
  • Not knowing enough…
  • Self-imposed expectations
  • Political concerns
  • Financial concerns
  • Phobias
  • The “unknown” fueled by your imagination
  • An untrue invention of reality

How does fear affect the human body?

All of these events create feelings that can hold us HOSTAGE. The cause of the fear-based experience may be long gone, but we hold that fear within our cellular memory and tuck it deep into our being. Other similar incidences may cause a trigger of the past and the fear resurfaces.

Psychology Today also says: “Traumas or bad experiences can trigger a fear response within us that is hard to quell. Yet exposing ourselves to our personal demons is the best way to move past them.”

The recognition that we sense danger is an instinctual response that helps us move into safety. Adrenalin is triggered naturally when fear is present and we go into a fight or flight response. The same kind of fear response is triggered when the fear is self-imposed. The physiology of the energy system is shut down and we are not able to support our well-being.

How does fear affect the human energy field?

A balanced energy system around the human is typically about two feet around the body. The Hara, chakras, meridians and the energy field flow in a symmetrical pattern throughout the entire body.  When fear comes, no matter how it presents itself, the energy flow to the body halts. There is no flow within the energy system and the entire system shuts down.  The energy field no longer can contain itself with healthy boundaries. The field constricts close to the body while bits of energy spark outward blowing holes in the circumference of the energy field. This hinders the energy flow throughout the entire energy system. The energy becomes sluggish and it is more difficult to recover from fear. “Frozen in my tracks”, is a good phrase to describe how the energy system looks during a fear experience.

  • Energy flow stops
  • Energy system shuts down and Constrict close to the body
  • Energy sparks through the edges of the energy field
  • Body has little or no energy flow
  • Becomes sluggish
  • Difficult to recover
  • Frozen
